Our Origin
The Image of God
What do we really know about our origin? We have stories, myths and fables from many cultures. In the Hebrew creation story we have the Garden of Eden which is a place we are taught that is Paradise. A place on earth “God” created to put his image in the physical form and walk in its creation to enjoy its pleasures. Later we read of the many problems after man was created and then expelled from this beautiful utopia to live a life of toil and troubles. Again, the story seems far fetched to the conscious mind. What remains clear is the image of God placed within mankind and the participation of the material reality around us to experience.
What then is the image of God planted with the very essence of your existence as a human being? The Image defines your soul as the place of this Paradise of the living God meaning “a place of timeless harmony and contentment, a “land” of luxury and fulfillment… a higher place, the holiest place in contrast to this physical world.
There is a saying in the Book of Torah “Ve’asitem otem or atem”: meaning; “You shall make yourselves” meaning: “you shall create yourselves”: “ve’astim atem”. Also similarly in the story of the Children of Israel while receiving the Torah at Mt. Siani they said “Na’aseh v’nishma” meaning “first we will do” (meaning obey), and then “we will listen, meaning to do. These are key concepts in the entire teaching of Torah for the illumination of your Soul. The Torah is a flow of morality for how to be a Human Being in constant communion with its creator namely GOD.
You are a Human Being which is a Soul. The body that is part of nature, a physical location made of the earth molecules containing and comprised of everything on the earth and eternal consciousness that comes from Source.
